Discount Calculator
Compute sale prices, savings, and quantity totals from any percent or fixed discount with this private discount calculator.
Markdown math turns messy once teams stack coupons, loyalty credits, and bulk quantities. The Discount Calculator converts any base price plus a percentage or fixed deduction into a precise sale price, real savings, and a total for every unit in the order. Switching discount modes mirrors how e-commerce promos, procurement negotiations, and retail POS overrides behave in the real world. Quantity support shows how margins and budgets shift when you buy one unit or one hundred. Every calculation stays inside your browser, so unfinished price sheets and promotional plans remain private until they ship.
What is the Discount Calculator?
The Discount Calculator is a pricing QA assistant for merchandisers, growth teams, and finance analysts who must defend promo math on the spot. It normalizes percent-off and fixed-amount scenarios, surfaces the actual savings, and multiplies the results by quantity so stakeholders see the true spend. Because it strips currency symbols and runs locally, you can model confidential price sheets without exposing them to third parties. Use it before launching coupons, negotiating vendor rates, or approving budget requests that depend on discounted pricing.
How the discount calculator works
Each numeric field passes through a normalizer that strips every character except digits, comma, dot and minus, then picks the decimal separator by whichever of the comma or dot appears last — so 1.234,56 and 1,234.56 both resolve to 1234.56. Percent mode computes price × value ÷ 100; fixed mode subtracts the amount and back-derives the effective percentage. Intermediate results are rounded to four decimals to absorb floating-point drift, and percentages above 100 or fixed amounts larger than the price are rejected. Quantity is floored to a whole number, and every figure is rendered by Intl.NumberFormat at two decimals in your locale, without a currency symbol.

FAQ
Can I stack multiple discounts?
Run the calculator once per discount and feed the new price back in for the next deduction. This mirrors how most checkout systems apply stacked promos sequentially.
Does the calculator include taxes or shipping?
No, the tool focuses on pre-tax pricing so you can reuse it across countries. Add taxes, shipping, or fees after you finalize the discounted subtotal.
Which currencies are supported?
Any currency works because the calculator strips symbols and formats the output with your locale. Just type digits and decimals for the price and discount value.
What happens if I enter 0%?
A zero discount simply returns the original price and confirms that no savings are applied—helpful when proving that a coupon is inactive.
Is my input stored anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser, so draft pricing scenarios, quotes, and budgets never leave your device.
Can I export the results?
Copy the outputs or screenshot the card. Many teams paste the status line directly into briefs or chat threads to document the discount math.
